A Voice for All of District 14
Listening, responding, and delivering affordable housing expertise to Madison. Committed to mixed-income solutions and neighborhood stability.
Experienced Leadership.
Authentic Representation.
I am running to provide support to unrepresented District 14 constituents—including Hispanic individuals living in our trailer parks and neighbors who feel unknown to current leadership. I see you, and I want to ensure your needs and concerns are well represented.
With extended expertise in affordable housing from working at WHEDA and DOA running affordable rental housing programs, I bring technical knowledge to the Common Council.
“I understand what goes into making affordable housing work both for the renters of the housing, but also for the neighborhood that they are part of.”
Priorities for District 14
My platform is built on listening to neighbors and applying professional expertise to solve our district's challenges.
Responsiveness
I will RESPOND. My commitment is to listen to constituents, gather the facts, and respond in a timely way. You deserve to be heard.
Park Street BRT
I support rapid bus transit, but it must coexist with our community. I will fight to protect on-street parking and foot traffic for small, family-owned businesses.
Affordable Housing
Advocating for mixed income and tenure (rental, lease-purchase, homeownership) alongside supportive housing for those facing addiction or homelessness.
Inclusive Representation
Strongly committed to representing ALL residents—including Latinos, Black, and People of Color residents—and the diverse businesses that make District 14 unique.
Testimonials
“Kate Blood will be a terrific advocate for District 14. I deeply admire all that she does to support youth, older adults, and those experiencing life’s challenges. She is empathetic and self-reflective; committed to engaging, listening, learning, and representing neighbors of all backgrounds.”
— Sarah Lawton, District 14 Resident“Kate Blood knows a lot about how to make housing more affordable on Madison’s South Side . . . her disarming personality should help the City Council focus more on positive outcomes for everyone and less on politics. We’re endorsing Blood because she offers South Side residents more independence and real-world experience to get things done for District 14. ”
— Wisconsin State Journal“I feel you and Noah would each do a good job, but your experience with housing and substance use and genuine concern for our immigrant neighbors leads me to say I will offer you my endorsement!”
